How to Spot & Report Xverse Impersonation Scams

Scammers regularly impersonate Xverse Support to trick users into handing over funds or their Secret Recovery Phrase. This guide explains how to recognize fake support accounts, what Xverse will never do, and where to report impersonators.

Before You Start

The single most important thing to know: Xverse is a non-custodial wallet. We never have access to your funds, we never ask for your Secret Recovery Phrase, and we never charge fees to "unlock", "activate", or "release" your assets. Anyone telling you otherwise is a scammer.

Your Secret Recovery Phrase is the master key to your wallet. Anyone who has it can take everything. Never type it into a website, share it in a chat, or send it to anyone including support teams.

Xverse Official Support Channels

Xverse only provides support through these official channels:

Xverse does not operate any Telegram, WhatsApp, or other private-messaging support accounts. We will never DM you first offering help.

Recognize the Warning Signs

Be on high alert if someone claiming to be Xverse (or an Xverse partner) does any of the following:

  • Messages you first on Telegram, WhatsApp, X, or Discord offering "support"
  • Asks for your Secret Recovery Phrase, private key, or password
  • Asks you to send funds to "verify", "activate", "unlock" or "release" your assets
  • Directs you to a website to "connect" or "validate" your wallet to fix an issue
  • Sends screenshots of large balances or offers to sell you Bitcoin cheaply
  • Pressures you to act quickly or creates a sense of urgency

We will never reach out to you privately first, and will never ask your recovery phrase for support purposes.

Protect Yourself

If you suspect you're dealing with an impersonator:

  1. Stop engaging immediately — don't reply or click any links.
  2. Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase, password, or personal details.
  3. Don't send funds under any circumstances.
  4. If you connected your wallet to a suspicious site, disconnect it right away.
  5. Verify anything you're unsure about directly through the official Help Center before taking action.

Report the Impersonator

Reporting fake accounts helps protect the whole community:

  1. On X (Twitter): open the impersonator's profile, tap the menu, and choose Report → impersonation.
  2. On Telegram / WhatsApp: use the app's built-in Report option, then block the contact.
  3. Let Xverse know by contacting the official Support Center with a screenshot and the account link.

The more reports an impersonating account receives, the faster the platform takes it down.
