How to Restore an Existing Wallet in Xverse?

Restoring your Xverse Wallet gives you access to your funds and assets in case of a lost device or forgotten password. You can restore your wallet using the seed phrase on all platforms or via cloud backup (for mobile users only). Follow the instructions below to restore your wallet securely.

Restore Manually Using Seed Phrase (All Platforms)

A seed phrase is a twelve or twenty-four-word phrase that acts as the key to restore access to your wallet.

Restore Wallet:

  • Launch Xverse App > select “Recover an Existing Wallet” > Restore manually
  • Enter the 12 words in the exact order provided during wallet setup.

Remember

  • Double-check each word of your seed phrase for accuracy. If you are still logged in to your wallet on another device, you can verify the seed phrase via Settings (⚙️) > Security > Backup Wallet.
  • Never share your seed phrase with anyone, including our support team.

Restore from Cloud Backup (Mobile Only)

Mobile users can restore their wallet using a securely encrypted cloud backup stored in iCloud (iOS) or Google Drive (Android). This method simplifies the recovery process.

  • Launch Xverse app > select Recover an Existing Wallet > Restore from iCloud

  • Select a backup of the wallet you wish to restore. You can have multiple wallet backups to the one cloud storage > Enter your cloud backup password to decrypt the file.

What if I forget my cloud backup password? - You won’t be able to restore from the cloud backup without the password. Ensure you store it securely.

Set Up Security Features

To complete wallet restoration and setup process, you need to create a new Password or Biometric/PIN (only available on mobile devices) for added wallet protection.

Choose a strong and unique password to protect your wallet. If you set up your Biometric security with FaceID or fingerprint on mobile device, remember your PIN. Without the PIN, you won’t be able to access your 12-word seed phrase for backup purposes.

Key Notes

  • Xverse only supports importing wallets using seed phrases or cloud backups; private key imports are not supported.
