Yes. Anyone who can send crypto can pay you to an address (or Lightning/Spark invoice) you control in Xverse. You do not need Xverse to "approve" incoming funds the way a bank approves a deposit.
You do need the payer to send the right asset on the right network.
Receiving Bitcoin (L1)
- Open Xverse → Receive → Bitcoin.
- Share your Bitcoin address or QR with the payer.
- Wait for network confirmations before treating funds as final.
Bitcoin transactions are irreversible once confirmed. There is no chargeback.
Receiving via Lightning / Spark
Xverse supports fast Bitcoin payments through Spark (Lightning-compatible payment rails in the product). Use this when the payer can pay a Lightning/Spark invoice or the receive flow shown in-app.
Tips:
- Generate a fresh invoice for the amount when the product asks for one.
- Invoices can expire; create a new one if needed.
- Confirm with the payer that they are using a compatible Lightning/Spark path, not a plain onchain send to the wrong place.
Receiving stablecoins (Cash / L2)
Xverse Cash and portfolio flows support stablecoins on Bitcoin Layer 2 networks (routes can include assets such as USDC on Starknet, USDB on Spark, and USDCx on Stacks, depending on what the app surfaces).
How to get paid in stables:
- Open Receive (or Cash) and select the stablecoin + network the payer will use.
- Share that exact address / QR.
- Tell the payer the network name in plain language (example: "USDC on Starknet, not Ethereum mainnet").
Wrong-network deposits are a common loss. When unsure, send a tiny test first.
Getting paid from an employer or client
| Payer type | What usually works |
|---|---|
| Crypto-native client | BTC address, Lightning/Spark, or stablecoin on an agreed network |
| Freelancer platforms that pay crypto | Withdraw to your Xverse address for that asset |
| Traditional employer (fiat payroll) | They pay your bank; you onramp or wire into Cash. Direct "salary to BTC" is rare unless they already run crypto payroll |
| Invoice in dollars, settle onchain | Agree the asset, network, amount, and who pays network fees before work starts |
Xverse is not a licensed payroll bank. For W-2 / PAYE-style jobs, keep a bank account unless your employer explicitly pays crypto.
Fiat-funded Cash (related, not "crypto salary")
Where virtual account details are available through partners, you can receive a bank transfer that arrives as stablecoins in Cash. That is bank → onchain conversion, useful for freelancers who still invoice in fiat but want a self-custodial dollar layer.
Checklist before you share an address
- Asset ticker matches (BTC vs USDC vs USDB, etc.).
- Network matches.
- You control the account (seed backed up).
- You are not pasting an address from a screenshot in a DM.
- For large payments, confirm the first characters and last characters of the address out-of-band.
Next steps
- Download Xverse and open Receive for the asset you need.
- Explore Bitcoin bank and Onchain bank.
