You can now use your Ledger hardware wallet with the Xverse mobile app, giving you the security of cold storage on the go. This feature supports connecting bluetooth-enabled hardware wallets to Xverse mobile app.
Before You Start
Make sure you have:
- A bluetooth-enabled Ledger device (e.g. Ledger Nano X,…)
- The Xverse mobile app installed and updated to the latest version
- Bluetooth enabled on your phone
- Your Ledger device charged, unlocked, and updated to the latest firmware
- The relevant app open on your Ledger:
- Bitcoin app for BTC, Ordinals, and Runes
- Stacks app for STX
- Starknet app for Starknet assets
Using Xverse and Ledger Live together with the same Ledger device is not recommended. Check out: Why You Should Avoid Using Xverse and Ledger Live on the Same Ledger Device
Step 1: Start the Hardware Wallet Setup
In the Xverse mobile app, select Accounts Add hardware wallet account.
Xverse will open the Connect Hardware Wallet screen. Select Ledger as your device.
Step 2: Connect via Bluetooth
Xverse will begin scanning for nearby Ledger devices via Bluetooth.
- Make sure your Ledger device is turned on and unlocked
- Keep the devices close together during pairing
When your device appears in the list, tap it to initiate pairing. Follow any on-screen prompts on both your phone and your Ledger to confirm the connection.
Device not showing up? Try the following:
- Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on your phone
- Make sure your Ledger is unlocked and not connected to another device
- Restart Bluetooth on your phone and try again
- Ensure your Ledger firmware is up to date </aside>
Step 3: Select Your Bitcoin Layers
Choose the assets you want to manage with your Ledger account:
- Bitcoin / Ordinals / Runes — requires the Bitcoin app open on your Ledger
- Stacks (STX) — requires the Stacks app open on your Ledger
- Starknet — requires the Starknet app open on your Ledger
You can select one or more. Xverse will prompt you to open the appropriate app on your Ledger device for each selection.
Step 4: Select the Accounts to Add
Xverse will scan your Ledger and display the available accounts. You can add up to 10 hardware wallet accounts.
Accounts are shown in two derivation paths:
- Standard derivation path — compatible with Ledger Live
- Legacy derivation path — the previous Xverse-supported path for Ledger accounts
Select the accounts you want to import into Xverse, then tap Continue.

Step 5: Complete Setup
Once your accounts are added, they'll appear in your Xverse account list. You can now manage your Bitcoin, Ordinals, Runes, Stacks, and Starknet assets on mobile — with your private keys securely stored on your Ledger.
Sending Transactions with Ledger on Mobile
When you initiate a transaction from a Ledger-connected account, Xverse will prompt you to review and approve the transaction on your Ledger device. Make sure your Ledger is nearby, unlocked, and has the correct app open before confirming.
