Invalid Seed Phrase or Incorrect Addresses Upon Wallet Restoration

If you are experiencing problems importing your seed phrase—such as seeing an invalid seed phrase error or restoring incorrect wallet addresses—review the following common causes and solutions:

Double-Check Your Seed Phrase

  • Word Order: Confirm that your seed phrase is entered in the exact order provided, with spaces between each word. The sequence is essential for wallet restoration.
  • Spelling: Verify the spelling of all words. Even minor typos can cause the seed phrase to appear valid but lead to incorrect wallet addresses.
  • Translation Issues: If you are using a translator in your browser, there is a chance that the words you're inputting have been modified by result of that browser. To ensure accuracy, compare the words with the BIP39 word list. Consider any possible synonyms or related words that might have been altered by the translator.
  • Multiple Wallets:If you manage multiple wallets, confirm that you’re using the correct seed phrase for the wallet you want to restore.
    • If possible, open the original wallet and go to Settings > Security > Backup Wallet to verify your seed phrase.

Check Browser and App Compatibility

  • Download the Official App: If you’re restoring on mobile, download the latest version of the Xverse app from Xverse Downloads.
  • Use a Supported Browser: For web-based wallets, ensure you’re using a compatible browser such as Google Chrome.
  • Disable Browser Extensions: Turn off any third-party browser extensions that might interfere with wallet operations.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Carefully re-enter the seed phrase to avoid errors.
  • As a non-custodial wallet, Xverse does not store your wallet data or seed phrase, and we cannot recover funds if the correct seed phrase is lost.
