Both Xverse and Phantom wallets support Native SegWit addresses for Bitcoin transactions and Taproot addresses for storing Bitcoin-based assets, including ordinal inscriptions, rare sats, BRC-20 tokens, and runes. However, Xverse offers a built-in feature to swap runes and list them on the marketplace directly from the app, providing a seamless experience without the need to navigate to external platforms.
Follow these steps to successfully import your Phantom wallet into Xverse
Step 1: Prepare Your Seed Phrase
Xverse currently supports importing a single wallet using a seed phrase. Private key imports or multiple wallet imports are not supported at this time. Make sure you have the correct seed phrase associated with the wallet you want to import before beginning.
To verify in your Phantom wallet, go to Settings > Account > Show Secret Phrase.
Step 2: Restore an Existing Wallet with Xverse
Launch the Xverse app or extension, select Restore an existing wallet, and input your seed phrase. Ensure you enter each word in the correct order and check carefully for typos.

Steps 3: Generate Accounts if Needed
If only one account appears after importing, click + Generate Accounts to access all accounts associated with your Phantom wallet.
Troubleshooting Seed Phrase Import Issues
If you’re having trouble importing your seed phrase, such as seeing incorrect addresses or receiving an invalid seed phrase error, check the following:
- Word Order: Make sure each word is entered in the correct order (1-12) with a space between each word (for mobile).
- Spelling: Verify that each word is spelled correctly. Even a single typo can prevent the seed phrase from working properly.
- Translation Issues: If using a browser with automatic translation, the seed phrase words may be altered. For accuracy, compare each word with the BIP39 word list to ensure they are correct.
- Browser Compatibility: Use a supported browser, like Chrome, or download the official Xverse app from https://www.xverse.app/download to restore your wallet.
- Correct Seed Phrase: Double-check that you’re using the right seed phrase associated with the wallet you want to import, especially if you manage multiple wallets.
- Account Types: If the seed phrase was created with a different wallet, note that you might see different addresses or empty balances due to varying account type compatibility.
By following these checks, you can resolve common issues and successfully import your wallet into Xverse.
