Can I Import Unisat Wallet into Xverse?

Unisat and Xverse wallets manage Bitcoin and other digital assets differently. In Xverse, Bitcoin is stored under your Native Segwit address (starting with bc1q) or Nested Segwit address (starting with 3), while Ordinals, Runes, and BRC-20 tokens are stored under the Taproot address (starting with bc1p). This separation enhances the security of your assets, avoids unintentional uses of funds.

While Unisat supports all types of Bitcoin wallet addresses, all of your crypto assets are stored under the same selected address.

If you wish to import your Unisat wallet into Xverse, follow our guide below:

Verify Your Unisat Wallet Type

Determine the type of wallet you are using with Unisat, as Unisat supports various Bitcoin wallet types. This step is crucial to ensure compatibility with Xverse. For more information, refer to our article: Understanding Derivation Paths and Xverse Wallet Compatibility.

Xverse wallet does not support the importing of wallets using WIF or HEX private keys and only 12/24 word seed phrases can be imported.

Import Unisat - Taproot Wallet

If your Unisat wallet is a Taproot wallet (address starting with bc1p), after you import the wallet using the seed phrase, you will need to use the Recover Asset tool to send BTC to your Nested Segwit wallet in Xverse. Check our guide here: How to Recover BTC sent to your Ordinals Address?

Import Unisat - Native Segwit or Nested Segwit Wallet

If your Unisat wallet is a Native Segwit wallet (address starting with bc1q) or Nested Segwit wallet (address starting with 3), you can easily import it into Xverse using the seed phrase. Follow our detailed guide here: How to Restore an Existing Wallet.

Handle Unisat Legacy Wallet

If your Unisat wallet is a Legacy wallet (address starting with 1), direct import into Xverse is not supported. It’s best to create a new Xverse wallet and transfer your assets directly.
