Funding your Xverse wallet with Bitcoin is easy and can be done in two ways: by sending BTC from another wallet or by depositing BTC directly from our on-ramp partners like Transak and Moonpay. Below are the steps for both methods.
Sending BTC from Another Wallet to Your Xverse Wallet
To send BTC to your Xverse wallet from another address:
- On your Xverse wallet dashboard, select “Receive”
- A list of addresses will display, copy your Bitcoin payment address. This can be a Nested Segwit address (starting with 3) or Native Segiwt address (starting with bc1q). Use this address when initiating the transfer from another wallet.
Xverse uses separate addresses to manage Ordinals and BTC in order to prevent accidentally spending your digital assets by accident. Your BTC for payments is stored in your preferred Bitcoin address (address starting with 3 or bc1q), while ordinal inscriptions, BRC-20 and runes are stored in your Ordinals address (starting with bc1p). Purchasing BTC from On-Ramp Partners
To buy BTC and deposit it directly to your Xverse wallet:
- On your Xverse wallet dashboard, select “Buy” and choose BTC from the list of available cryptocurrencies.
- Select one of the available on-ramp partners like Transak or Moonpay.
- Follow the instructions provided by the partner to complete the purchase and receive the BTC into your Xverse wallet.
Important Notes:
If you have mistakenly sent BTC to your Ordinals address, don’t worry! We have a guide for recovering these transactions here.
